Bio
Jessica earned her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she served as an Associate Editor in Chief on the South Carolina Law Review. After her first year of law school, Jessica served as an intern to the Honorable J. Michelle Childs, then U.S. District Judge for the District of South Carolina. Throughout law school, Jessica also clerked at the office of Debbie B. Barbier in Columbia, as well as completing an externship with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office. Prior to law school, Jessica graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina.
After graduating law school, Jessica clerked for South Carolina Circuit Judge Edgar W. Dickson before his retirement in June of 2022. Following Judge Dickson’s retirement, Jessica stayed on for another five months and clerked for his successor, Judge Heath P. Taylor. After her clerkships, Jessica was ready to return home and joined the West Law Firm to help the community of Berkeley County and the surrounding areas.
In her free time, Jessica enjoys playing sports, traveling, and being outdoors. The summer prior to law school, she traveled to Utah where she hiked the Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Arches National Parks. When she’s not in the office, Jessica helps coach a youth softball team that competes around the state.
