Bio

Michael was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. He attended Medaille College in Buffalo and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. After completing his undergraduate studies, Michael moved to Charleston to attend law school at the Charleston School of Law. Michael graduated from law school in May of 2022 and passed the South Carolina bar exam in October of the same year. After graduation, he worked at the McGrath Law firm in Mount Peasant, SC, and specialized in criminal defense and family law.

In June of 2023, Michael joined the Dorchester County Public Defender’s Office, where he handled hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases, including murder. With extensive courtroom experience, Michael has developed strong litigation skills, particularly in motion practice, settlement negotiation, and jury trials. While working at the Public Defender’s Office, he obtained numerous dismissals and not guilty verdicts in several trials, including drug and murder cases.

Michael is also a member of the South Carolina Young Lawyers Division.  He is married and lives in Summerville with his wife, Emily, and their two young children. They spend much of their time enjoying historic Summerville and visiting some of their favorite local restaurants and shops. He is a member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church.
